We werent sure if we should do this quick trip or not, because it was 1 week before we leave for our Around the World Honeymoon, but we were able to get tickets to Claypool Cellars Annual Purple Pachyderm Pinot Party at the Hopmunk in Sebastopol, CA so we decided why not.

We found round trip tickets on Southwest for $217. We each had $100 Southwest credit, then Moo used her Companion Pass and paid $5.60 to add me to her ticket (total=$28 for 2 round trip tickets). We used 6k Chase Ultimate Rewards points to rent a Chevy Tahoe for 1 day because we had some of our friends joining us on this trip, and 40k Hyatt points for 2 rooms at The Hyatt Regency Sonoma County (20k/each) and no resort fees.

The pinot noir wines from Claypool Cellers were delicious and I highly suggest you join the League of Extraordinary Slurpers (L.E.S). On top of the great wine, were lucky enough to be front row at a small venue to see Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel play! Last weekend at the Los Angeles Forum we saw Primus play at Slayer’s last show ever, in front of 15,000+ people, and now we just got to see Les Claypool play to a room of 1-200.

On our way back we bought 4 passes to the Escape Lounge in Terminal 2 of Oakland Airport. The passes were $44 each, but 100% covered because we both have a credit card that gives us $100 Lounge Buddy credit per year.
